The political landscape has changed in Northwest New Jersey after the sudden resignation of Assemblyman Gary Chuisano last month. A special convention held over the weekend named Parker Space as his successor.
In order to take the job, Space is stepping down from his position as the Freeholder Director in Sussex County.
Chuisano, who left the position in the 24th District to become County Surrogate, had some choice words for his successor.
“I would tell him that he has two eyes, two ears and one mouth. Try using them in that proportion,” said Chuisano.
The 24th district encompasses parts of Morris, Warren, and Sussex counties. Space now takes over the position Congressman Scott Garrett once held in his days of serving the State Assembly.
Chuisano added in his advice to Pace, “Be yourself, don’t try to be anything you’re not and you’ll be very successful.”
