1 airlifted to hospital following crash in Hope Twp.

HOPE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A 19-year-old female was airlifted to an area hospital due to injuries she sustained in a crash on County Route 521 Sunday morning, according to New Jersey State Police Spokesperson Sergeant Lawrence Peele.

The crash happened at 11:47 a.m. at the intersection of County Route 521 and Dogwood Road in Hope Township, Peele said.

According to a preliminary police investigation, the female, whose name was not released, was travelling on Dogwood Road in a Volkswagen Passat and as she entered County Route 521, her vehicle was struck by a Mercury SUV being driven by Tyler Turner, 20, of Hope Township, Peele said.

She was airlifted to an area hospital. She was alert and conscious after the crash, Peele said.

Turner was not injured, Peele said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, Peele said.
