1 arrested, 3 wanted after stealing checks from PO boxes, altering, making more than $30K worth of fraudulent deposits in Hunterdon County
FLEMINGTON BOROUGH, NJ (Hunterdon County) – One person was arrested and three others wanted for allegedly after stealing checks from PO boxes, altering the checks and making more than $30,000 worth of fraudulent deposits, police said.
On June 11, Flemington Borough police received a report from a local business in reference to fraudulent checks, police said.
During the four month investigation with assistance from Lawrence Township Police Department and the U.S. Postal Police, arrest warrants were issued for Tre Greene, 19, of Newburgh NY, Richard Rowe, 22, of Willingboro, NJ, Quarnae Osborne, 23, of Bristol, PA, and a 17-year-old juvenile, police said.
Police determined that three separate checks were stolen from US Post Office boxes, altered the checks and then deposited them into personal bank accounts for a total loss of $30,507.23, police said.
Rowe was charged and arrested on October 5 for receiving stolen property, theft and uttering a forged document, police said.
Greene, Osborne, and the juvenile are all charged with receiving stolen property and theft. They have also been entered as wanted persons, police said.
