1 dead, 1 injured after house fire in Sussex County

MONTAGUE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – One person is dead and another was injured after a house fire in Montague Township Friday night, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Alejandro Goez.

The fire broke out at 7:25 p.m. at a residence on Clove Road, Goez said.

The house was fully engulfed and Roman Soloviov, 50, of Montague was pronounced dead at the scene. An adult female was taken to an area hospital for smoke inhalation, Goez said.

“A preliminary investigation revealed this was non-suspicious, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Montague Fire Marshall,” Goez said.
