1 dead, 1 injured following car crash in Warren County

FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – One person is dead and another is injured following a Saturday morning crash in Franklin Township, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Charles Marchan.

The crash happened on June 27, at 10:44 a.m. on County Road 643 north at the intersection with Maple Ave, Marchan said.

According to Marchan, a preliminary investigation revealed that a 50-year-old man from Hampton, NJ was driving north on County Route 643 in his 2018 Audi Q-7 and a 2003 Acura RSX, driven by a 77-year-old man from Franklin Township, NJ, was turning left onto County Route 643 from Maple Avenue. The front of the Audi then struck the left side of the Acura.
The driver of the Acura suffered fatal injuries and the driver of the Audi suffered moderate injuries, Marchan said.
The crash remains under investigation.
