1 dead, 2 injured after crash on I-80 in Morris County

ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A woman is dead and two other people were injured after a crash on Interstate 80 in Morris County Tuesday morning, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Charles Marchan.

The crash happened at around 6:51 a.m. on Interstate 80 westbound at milepost 34.4 in Rockaway Township, Marchan said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Hyundai passenger vehicle and Ford van were traveling westbound on Interstate 80 when the Hyundai attempted to change lanes and collided with the Ford, Marchan said.

The driver of the Hyundai suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The passenger of the Hyundai, Maxima Arcibal, 65, of Dover suffered fatal injuries, Marchan said.

The driver of the Ford suffered minor injuries, Marchan said.

The crash remains under investigation and no additional was information available, Marchan said.
