1 dead, 2 seriously injured in Warren County crash

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A woman died and two people were seriously injured in a crash in Warren County Wednesday afternoon, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Detective Jeffrey Lebron.

The crash happened at around 3:18 p.m. at the intersection of County Route 517 and Ridge Road in Allamuchy Township, Lebron said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Jeep Wrangler was traveling east on Ridge Road and a Jeep SUV, driven by Lauren M. Gerhold, 33, of Hackettstown was traveling north on County Route 517 and a Ford Pickup was traveling south on CR 517.

At the intersection, the Jeep Wrangler impacted the Ford on the passenger side and the Ford was then re-directed and impacted the Jeep SUV on the driver’s side, Lebron said.

As a result of this crash, the driver of the Jeep Wrangler and driver of the Ford suffered serious bodily injuries and were flown to an area hospital. Gerhold suffered fatal injuries, Lebron said.

The crash remains under investigation and no additional information was available, Lebron said.
