
1 firefighter injured while battling house fire in Sussex County
VERNON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A firefighter sustained a minor injury while fighting a house fire in Vernon Township Saturday afternoon.
The fire started at 12:31 p.m. Saturday at 25 Drew Mountain Road, according to a post on the Vernon Township Fire Department Company’s Facebook page.
One firefighter sustained a minor injury from falling sheetrock, officials said.
The homeowners made it out safely, officials said.
The cause of the fire was not released.
Vernon Township Fire Department was assisted by the McAfee Fire Department, Highland Lakes Fire Department, Pochuck Valley Fire Department, Upper Greenwood Lake Volunteer Fire Company, Warwick, NY Fire Department, Vernon Township Ambulance Squad and the Glenwood Pochuck Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
