1 injured after vehicle hits utility pole, catches fire in Hunterdon County

TEWKSBURY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – One person was injured after a fiery crash in Hunterdon County on Sunday.

The single-vehicle crash happened at around 8:05 a.m. at the intersection of Old Turnpike Road and Elliott Farm Road in Tewksbury Township, according to a post on the Tewksbury First Aid and Rescue Squad’s Facebook page.

Upon arrival, the vehicle involved in the crash was found fully involved in flames after having hit a utility pole and veering off the road onto the front lawn of a residence, authorities said.

One person was transported by the Tewksbury First Aid and Rescue Squad to an area hospital for an evaluation, authorities said.

The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.

The Oldwick Fire Company, Fairmount Fire Company No.1, Long Valley, NJ and the Tewksbury Township Police Department assisted at the scene.
