1 injured in deck collapse in Hackettstown

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – One person was injured after a deck collapsed in Hackettstown Saturday afternoon.

The incident occurred on the 200 block of Park Ave around 4:10 p.m., police said.

There were approximately 10 people on the deck when the deck fell approximately five feet to ground, police said.

A 41-year-old man from Lake Hiawatha, NJ sustained a minor injury and refused medical treatment at the scene, police said.

The Hackettstown construction official will inspect the structure on Monday and review whether the deck was properly permitted, police said.

Assisting at the scene was the Hackettstown Fire Department, Hackettstown Rescue Squad and the Warren Count Fire Marshal.
