1 killed, 1 hurt in Route 202 crash in Hunterdon County, state police say

EAST AMWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – A 58-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Route 202 in Hunterdon County Tuesday morning that injured one other, according to New Jersey State Police Sergeant Alejandro Goez.

The  crash happened at around 9:44 a.m. on Route 202 north at milepost 5.7 in East Amwell Township, Goez said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Infiniti G37, driven by Keithroy Williams, 58, of Monticello, NY, was traveling north on Route 202 when a Hyundai Santa Fe, driven by a 25-year-old male of Pennington, NJ,  entered Route 202 north from Route 31 north and struck the Hyundai, Goez said.

The Hyundai then went off the roadway to the right and struck the guardrail. The Infiniti went off the roadway to the right, overturned and continued down an embankment, Goez said.

Williams suffered fatal injuries and the other driver suffered minor injuries, Goez said.

The crash remains under investigation, Goez said.
