1 man arrested, 2 others wanted after shoplifting from Morris County CVS

DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – One man was arrested and two others are wanted for allegedly shoplifting from the CVS Pharmacy in Denville Township.

On Sept. 17, at around 7:52 p.m., police responded to the CVS Pharmacy on a report of a shoplifting in progress. The complainant reported observing three men enter the store and proceed to conceal various items on their person, police said.

Prior to police arrival, two of the suspects exited the store and entered a white Jeep Wrangler in the parking lot. When officers arrived on scene, the white Jeep Wrangler fled the parking lot, leaving the third man behind in the store, police said.

Officers attempted to stop the fleeing Jeep Wrangler, but quickly terminated the pursuit due to the danger posed to the public as a result of the reckless actions of the fleeing driver, police said.

The third man, who was identified as Aziz James, 24, of Jamaica, NY, was subsequently located in the parking lot of the CVS, apparently looking for his ride, police said.

A further police investigation revealed that James had in his possession approximately $280.00 in stolen over-the-counter medication, police said.

James was charged with shoplifting and released pending a court appearance, police said.

This incident remains under investigation in an attempt to identify the two remaining suspects at large, police said.
