1 seriously injured after motorcycle rear-ends car on I-80 in Warren County

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured Sunday afternoon after a crash on Interstate 80 in Warren County, according New Jersey State Police spokesperson Trooper Charles Marchan.

The crash occurred at 1:34 p.m. on Interstate 80 westbound at milepost 22.2 in Allamuchy Township, Marchan said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Volkswagen Jetta and a BMW motorcycle were traveling west on Interstate 80 when the motorcycle rear-ended the Jetta, Marchan said.

As a result of the crash, the driver of the motorcycle, who was identified as a 27-year-old man from Garfield, was ejected and suffered serious injuries, Marchan said.

The motorcyclist was flown to an area hospital.

The crash remains under investigation and no further information was available.
