12-year-old boy drowns in Morris County lake

MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A 12-year-old boy has drowned in a Morris County lake Wednesday afternoon, according to Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp.

It happened around 3:20 p.m, at Lake Valhalla Club, located at 13 Vista Road. in Montville Township, Knapp said.

The incident is not deemed to be suspicious at this time, Knapp said.

The name of the boy was not been released.

The incident is being investigated by the Montville Township Police Department, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, and the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
