HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A 15-year-old boy is facing several charges after he allegedly burglarized a Hackettstown business earlier this month, police said.
The 15-year-old, whose name was not released, from Washington Township, Morris County was charged on Jan. 13 with burglary, criminal mischief and theft. he was released pending a court appearance, police said.
The boy is accused of burglarizing the Express Mart, located at 321 Mountain Ave, on Jan. 3, 2020 at around 2:16 a.m., police said.
The boy used a hammer to break the glass on the front door to gain access to the building. He then stole both electronic cigarettes and cigarettes, and then fled the scene, police said.
“The Hackettstown Police Department would like to thank everyone who came forward with information regarding this incident,” police said.
Police are still looking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in the burglary that occurred on Dec. 22, 2019 at approx. 2:19 a.m. at the BP Gas Station, located at 17 Route 57, police said.
The unknown suspect used a rock to break a window to gain access to the building. The suspect then stole cigarettes and fled towards Stryker Airsoft, located at 13 Route 57, police said.
