18-year-old killed in single-vehicle crash in Warren County

A single-vehicle crash Sunday morning claimed the life of an 18-year-old woman from Blairstown Township, according to New Jersey State Police Sergeant Lawrence Peele said.

The crash happened at 8:05 a.m. on Birch Ridge Road in the area of Shannon Road in Hardwick Township, Peele said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Honda Civic traveling eastbound went off the road and struck a tree, Peele said.

The driver, whose name was not released, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at Newton Medical Center, Peele said.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle and the cause of the crash remains under investigation, Peele said.
