2 charged following fight outside QuickChek in Hackettstown

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Two Warren County residents have been charged following a fight Monday afternoon in Hackettstown.

On June 13, at around 2:23 p.m., police responded to the QuickChek, located at 134 Mountain Avenue, in reference to a physical dispute, police said.

Upon arrival, officers located Eric Boe, 55, of Great Meadows seated on the ground bleeding from the face while William Diaz-Santiago, 35, of Hackettstown, NJ was holding him down, police said.

Through a police investigation it was determined Diaz-Santiago was riding by on his bicycle and Boe attempted to “clothesline” him off his bike. Diaz-Santiago then got off his bicycle and pushed Boe which caused him to fall down and cut his face, police said.

Boe then got up and punched Diaz-Santiago after he had turned around to walk away. A fight ensued and Diaz-Santiago held Boe down until officers arrived, police said.

Boe was transported by Hackettstown First Aid and Rescue Squad to Hackettstown Medical Center, police said.

Both were charged with disorderly conduct and have a pending court appearance, police said.
