2 charged in multiple New Jersey concession stand burglaries

A Sussex County man and a Middlesex County woman have been charged in connection with burglaries at concession stands in New Jersey, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said Tuesday. 

Michael J. Kaloudis, 31, of Stanhope and Angela M. Lopez, 34, of Middlesex were caught in Wayne Township on Monday and charged in Bergen County with with eleven counts of third-degree burglary and one count of third-degree theft. Both have pending burglary and theft charges in other counties.

The arrests are the result of a three-month investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Investigations Squad initiated an investigation in April into a series of concession stand burglaries at Little League fields, recreational centers, and municipal pools in Bergen County and throughout New Jersey. The suspects allegedly would force in doors or windows during the overnight or early morning hours and steal cash, food and beverages, and concession stand appliances and tools.

Through evidence obtained by law enforcement agencies throughout New Jersey, Kaloudis and Lopez were developed as the primary suspects in over forty concession stand burglaries.

Both were remanded to the Bergen County jail pending a detention hearing in on Friday, June 28, 2019.

The following law enforcement assisted in the investigation, Bergen County Sheriff’s Department, Hasbrouck Heights Police Department, Saddle Brook Police Department, Teaneck Police Department, Palisades Park Police Department, Lodi Police Department, Paramus Police Department, Fort Lee Police Department, Elmwood Park Police Department, Wood-Ridge Police Department, Totowa Police Department, Stanhope Police Department, Wayne Police Department, Parsippany Police Department, Clifton Police Department, Paterson Police Department, Jefferson Police Department, Morristown Police Department, Little Falls Police Department, Belleville Police Department, Woodbridge Police Department, Livingston Police Department, Madison Police Department, Verona Police Department, Kinnelon Police Department, Bloomindale Police Department, Rockaway Police Department, Manville Police Department, Florham Park Police Department, and the Denville Police Department.
