
2 charged with Jefferson Township vehicle break-ins
JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Two people have been charged after an investigation into vehicle break-ins in Jefferson Township.
On Feb. 16, at around 6:10 a.m., township police responded to Shore Road, in the Lake Hopatcong section, for a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. Upon arrival to the area, multiple residents directed police to a male suspect who was observed entering multiple vehicles on Shore Road, police said.
Upon a further investigation, Thomas Berry, 31, of Wharton and Samantha Delano, 26, of Stanhope were accused of entering multiple vehicles and removing personal property, police said.
Both were arrested and charged with burglary and theft. Berry was transported to the Morris County Correctional Facility and Delano was released. Both have pending court appearances, police said.
