2 dead, 2 injured in single-vehicle crash on I-80 in Warren County, state police say

HOPE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Two people are dead and two others were hurt following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 in Hope Township Saturday night, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Philip Curry.

The crash happened at 6:06 p.m. on Interstate 80 westbound at milepost 12.2 in Hope Township, Curry said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a 2013 Chevy Cruz, driven by Terese Walker, 49, of Syracuse, NY was traveling west on I-80 when it exited the roadway, impacted a guard rail, and a tree, Curry said.

Walker and the front seat passenger, Patricia Snell, 53, of Brooklyn, NY, suffered moderate injuries, Curry said.

The right rear passenger, Tyrell Walker, 30, and the left rear passenger, Tyshawn Langhorne, 35, both of Brooklyn, NY suffered fatal injuries, Curry said.

The left lane of I-80 was closed for approximately 3 hours and the cause of the crash remains under investigation, Curry said.
