
2 face charges following traffic stop in Hackettstown
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – Two Warren County residents were charged following a traffic stop Friday night in Hackettstown
On Sept. 18 at around 8:29 p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of 100 Main Street for an alleged moving violation, police said.
While the officer was talking to the driver, who was identified as Marlon Orellano-Alanzo, 43, of Mansfield Township, the officer allegedly detected the odor an alcoholic beverage. The officer located open beer containers on the driver side of the vehicle, police said.
Marlon was charged with driving while intoxicated, no driver’s license, headlights required, reckless driving, open alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, consumption of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, and failure to stop.
A passenger in the vehicle, Edgar Obdulio Esquivel-Morales, 38, of Hackettstown, was charged with consumption of alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle.
Both were released pending a court appearance.
