2 face drug charges following traffic stop in Morris County
DENVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Two Morris County residents are facing drug charges following a traffic stop Monday in Denville Township.
On September 19, police stopped a vehicle on Lackawanna Avenue for motor vehicle violations, police said.
During the course of the investigation that followed, it was discovered that the driver, who was identified as Jeanne Hicks, 51, of Denville Township, was allegedly in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and CDS paraphernalia, police said.
Officers also discovered that the passenger of the vehicle, who was identified as Ronald Washington, 62, of Dover was allegedly in possession of CDS, CDS paraphernalia and a large amount of currency, police said.
Based on the totality of the circumstances, officers believed that Hicks and Washington were conspiring to distribute CDS, police said.
Hicks and Washington were each charged with possession of CDS with intent to distribute, conspiracy to distribute CDS, possession of CDS, and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Both were lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility, police said.
