2 flown to hospital with serious injuries following crash in Sussex County

ANDOVER BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) — Two people were flown to the hospital after a crash in Andover Borough Sunday morning, state police said.

It happened at 7:14 a.m. on Route 206 at mile marker 102.5, state police said.

According to state police, a preliminary investigation revealed a Volkswagen, driven by Enrico A. Stampone, 26, from Totowa, was traveling north on Route 206 when his vehicle crossed the yellow center line into the southbound lane and struck a Hyundai SUV, driven by Melissa J. Vanorden, 43, from Budd Lake. 

Both suffered serious injuries and were airlifted to Morristown Medical Center, state police said.

No further information was available.
