2 injured, 1 ejected from pickup, during rollover crash on I-78 in Hunterdon County

UNION TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Two people suffered injuries after a rollover crash on Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County Saturday night, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Detective Jeffrey Lebron.

The crash happened at around 7:55 p.m. on the Interstate 78 eastbound at milepost 16 in Union Township, Lebron said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Nissan pickup was traveling eastbound when the driver lost directional control and overturned, Lebron said.

As a result of the crash, a passenger, Fernando Hernandez, 35, Flemington, was ejected and suffered serious injuries. The driver suffered minor injuries, Lebron said.

The passenger and driver were transported to an area hospital, Lebron said

The crash remains under investigation and no additional information was available, Lebron said.
