2 injured after crash on I-78 in Hunterdon County

LEBANON BOROUGH, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Two people were injured after a crash on Interstate 78 in Hunterdon County Sunday night, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Detective Jeffrey Lebron.

The crash happened at around 7:58 p.m. on Interstate 78 eastbound at milepost 20.8 in Lebanon Borough, Lebron said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Ford and Honda were traveling eastbound when the Ford struck the rear of the Honda, subsequently causing the Honda to run off the road right and into the tree line, Lebron said.

The driver and passenger of the Honda suffered minor injuries and were transported to an area hospital, Lebron said.

The crash remains under investigation and no further information was available, Lebron said.
