2 injured after crash with dump truck on I-80 in Morris County

NETCONG BOROUGH, NJ (Morris County) – Two people were injured after a crash in Morris County involving a dump truck, according to New Jersey State Police spokesperson Trooper Charles Marchan.

The crash happened on Friday, at around 10:32 p.m., on Interstate 80 west at milepost 26.3 in Netcong Borough, Marchan said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Honda Odyssey, driven by Jose Romero Flores, 31, of Hackettstown, was traveling west on Interstate 80, Marchan said.

A Western Star dump truck, driven by Joshua Jackson, 28, of Dayton, NJ was stopped in the right lane behind a disabled vehicle when the Honda struck the rear of the dump truck, Marchan said.

As a result of the crash, Flores suffered moderate injuries and his passenger, Sobrina Arevalo, 42, of Hackettstown, suffered serious injuries, Marchan said.

The driver of the dump truck was not injured, Marchan said.
