
Woman charged in Hackettstown stabbing incident
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – A woman faces multiple charges for an alleged stabbing incident in Hackettstown Friday night.
On July 24, at around 11:53 p.m., town police responded to a residence on the 200 block of West Baldwin Street for a report of a dispute with an individual stabbed in the chest, police said.
When police arrived on scene, officers found a 30-year-old male of Hackettstown, NJ with a stab wound to the chest, police said.
Through a preliminary investigation, it was determined that there was an argument involving Valentina Zukowski, 34, of Hackettstown, NJ and another male in an upstairs apartment. The 30-year-old then went to the apartment and while inside, Zukowski stabbed the 30-year-old in the chest with a knife, police said.
A 27-year-old female from Hackettstown, NJ reported receiving a hand injury from the knife, police said.
The 30-year-old suffered serious injuries and was flown to Morristown Medical Center. The 27-year-old suffered a minor injury and was transported to Hackettstown Medical Center, police said.
Zukowski was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon. she was lodged in the Warren County Correctional Facility.
The incident remains under investigation and additional charges are pending, police said.
Assisting at the scene was the Hackettstown Rescue Squad, Mansfield Township Rescue Squad, Saint Clare’s Paramedics, and the Independence Township Police.
