2 killed, 3 injured in Morris County crash

MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Two people were killed and three others were injured in a crash in Montville township Friday night, according to Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp.

The crash happened at 7:29 p.m. at the intersection of Route 202 and Heritage Court, Knapp said.

The investigation revealed that east of that intersection, a 2009 Saab and 2016 Nissan collided, Knapp said.

The rear seat passenger of a Saab, a 93-year-old woman from Hallandale, Florida, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The two other occupants of the Saab were injured and transported to Morristown Medical Center, Knapp said.

The two occupants of the Nissan were transported to Morristown Medical Center. A passenger of the Nissan, an 85-year-old man from Totowa, was later pronounced dead at the hospital, Knapp said.

The names were not released.

The accident is under investigation by Montville Township Police Department Traffic Bureau, Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and Morris County Sheriff’s Office, Knapp said.
