2 rescued after car crashes into Hunterdon County pond

READINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Two people were rescued when their vehicle crashed into a pond in Readington Township, according to a post on the Whitehouse Rescue Squad’s Facebook page.

Emergency crews responded early Monday morning to Higginsville Road for a car submerged in a pond with the occupants entrapped, authorities said.

Detective Pat Brown from Readington Township Police Department and squad members entered the vehicle utilizing water rescue dry suits and extricated both occupants, the post said.

The occupants were then transported to a local trauma center for further evaluation of injuries, authorities said.

Three Bridges Volunteer Fire Company also responded and assisted with traffic control of the incident, the post said.
