2 seriously injured after Sussex County crash

WANTAGE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – Two people were seriously injured after a crash early Friday morning in Sussex County, according New Jersey State Police spokesperson Trooper Charles Marchan.

The crash happened at 6:25 a.m. on County Route 565 in Wantage Township, Marchan said.

A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Jeep Liberty, driven by Laurence N. Sartor, 38, of Sussex, was traveling north on County Route 565 and a Ford Ranger, driven by by Patryk M. Finke, 22, of Sussex, was traveling south on County Route 565 in the area of box 1451, Marchan said.

The Jeep then crossed the center lines into the southbound lanes and struck the Ranger before striking the right guardrail, Marchan said.

Both drivers suffered serious injuries, Marchan said.

The crash remains under investigation, Marchan said.
