
2 seriously injured after Sussex County motorcycle crash
FRANKFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) -Two people were seriously injured after a Sussex County motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon, according New Jersey State Police spokesperson Trooper Charles Marchan.
The crash happened at 2:26 p.m. at the intersection of Upper North Shore Road and Mattison Reservoir in Frankford Township, Marchan said.
A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Dodge Ram, operated by 23-year-old Charles F. DeFranza 3rd of Hopatcong, was traveling south on Mattison Reservoir and a Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by 57-year-old Michael J. Mrocka of Bloomingdale, was traveling west on Upper North Shore Road, Marchan said.
At the intersection of the two roadways, the front of the Harley impacted the left side of the Dodge Ram, Marchan said.
Mrocka and his passenger, 51-year-old Deborah L. Mrocka of Bloomingdale, suffered serious injuries and were flown to an area hospital, Marchan said.
DeFranza was not injured, Marchan said.
The crash remains under investigation.
