
2 seriously injured in fiery head-on crash in Warren County
HARMONY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – Two people were seriously injured in a fiery head-on crash in Harmony Township Friday morning, New Jersey State Police spokesperson Sergeant Philip Curry said.
The crash occurred at 8:34 a.m. on County Route 646 at milepost 3.15, Curry said.
A preliminary police investigation revealed that a Mazda, operated by Phillip Drake, 27, of East Stroudsburg, PA, was traveling westbound on County Route 646 when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Jeep, operated by Donte Garris, 31, of Washington, Curry said.
The Mazda caught fire and became fully engulfed, Curry said.
Both drivers sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital.
The roadway was closed for approximately 4 hours. The crash remains under investigation, Curry said.
