2021 Hunterdon County 4-H Fair is back

EAST AMWELL TOWNSHIP, NJ (Hunterdon County) – Hunterdon County’s 4-H Fair is back and ready to go, having met all public health planning requirements, and gaining approval for county park use by the Hunterdon County Board of Commissioners.

The 4-H Fair Committee advised the Board of Commissioners of their determination that the event should go forward this year, after being postponed due to the pandemic in 2020. It is scheduled for August 25 – 29, at the South County Park in East Amwell Township.

Both the County’s Departments of Health and Public Safety reviewed the 4-H Fair Committee prepared guidelines for compliance.

Hunterdon Board of Commissioners Director Susan J. Soloway said, “The 4-H Fair is an important celebration of Hunterdon County’s agricultural heritage, it is a valued tourism event, and fun for all those who attend. I congratulate the 4-H Fair Committee on developing a health and public safety plan that will ensure fairgoers can enjoy a sense of normalcy and return to what makes summer in Hunterdon County memorable.”

Hunterdon County Parks Division Head Dan Bush said to the Commissioners, “Hunterdon County and the 4-H & Agricultural Fair Committee are pleased to bring 4-H, fun, fair food, entertainment, rides, and livestock shows once again to South County Park and The Roger K. Everitt Fairgrounds in Hunterdon County. The 4-H and Agricultural fair has something to offer for everyone, you should come out and enjoy everything Hunterdon County Parks has to offer”

Commissioner Matt Holt, Planning and Land Use liaison, said, “Hunterdon County is an Ag county and the 4-H Fair embodies the county’s agricultural roots. The Board welcomes back the Fair and encourages residents and visitors to come back, safely.”

The 4-H Fair will feature the tractor pull event, musical acts, dog events, 4-H Club displays, needlework exhibits, photography contests, livestock exhibits, food vendors and rides for families to enjoy.

The 2021 Hunterdon County 4-H & Agricultural Fair will take place Wednesday to Saturday August 25-29 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday August 29 from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. A Fireworks display will be held on Friday, August 27 in the evening between 9:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
