3 juveniles face charges in Mount Olive Twp.

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Three Budd Lake boys are facing charges following an incident Monday afternoon in Mount Olive Township.

On March 9, at 12:14 p.m., a township officer observed a 2014 Hyundai traveling on Waterloo Road at a high rate of speed and then turned into the Lozier Road Cul-de-sac, police said.

As the officer entered the cul-de-sac, the officer observed the vehicle stopped, and the occupants had fled into the woods, police said.

The officer was able to locate the three occupants of the vehicle and take them into custody without incident, police said.

Through the course of the investigation it was determined that the teen driver was underage, and did not have a driver’s license, police said.

The 16-year-old driver was charged with obstruction, unlicensed driver, and speeding. The two 15-year-olds were each charged with obstruction. There names were not released due to their ages.

All three were released pending a meeting with the Juvenile Detective.
