4 arrested after four-week long drug investigation in Warren County
BELVIDERE, NJ (Warren County) – A four-week long investigation into the alleged distribution of methamphetamine in Belvidere has led to the arrest of four New Jersey residents, Warren County Prosecutor’s Office said Monday.
The Warren County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force, the New Jersey State Police Strategic Investigations Unit, Belvidere Police Department, Phillipsburg Police Department and the Warren County Tactical Response Team executed a search warrant at 257 Depue Street in Belvidere, which is the home of 50-year-old Shawn Hopper and 32-year-old Aysha Aguilu, authorities said.
As a result of the investigation and search of the residence, police allegedly found methamphetamine, Xanax, Buprenorphine, cocaine and mushrooms, prosecutor’s office said.
Hopper was charged with second-degree possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, two counts third-degree distributing methamphetamine, and six counts of third-degree unlawful possession of CDS. He is held pending a detention hearing.
Aguilu was charged with second-degree possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, third-degree distributing methamphetamine, and three counts of third-degree unlawful possession of CDS. She is held pending a detention hearing.
Jeffrey Denny, 36, of Clinton was charged with hindering apprehension, and three counts of third-degree unlawful possession of CDS. He was released pending a court appearance.
Erica Butters, 46, of Morristown was charged with two counts of third-degree unlawful possession of CDS. She was released pending a court appearance.
