5 charged, $50K worth of heroin seized

SOMERVILLE, NJ (Somerset County) – A three-month investigation into the alleged distribution of heroin in the Somerset and Middlesex County area has led to the arrest of five individuals, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson.

Xavier Bailey, aka “x”, 29 of Somerset was charged with first-degree leader of a narcotics trafficking network, first-degree promoting organized street crime, second-degree possession of a firearm, second-degree endangering welfare of a child, first- degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, third-degree money laundering, and third-degree conspiracy to distribute or possess a Controlled Dangerous substance.

Viridiana Munoz, 30, of Somerset was charged with second-degree endangering welfare of a child, second-degree possession of a firearm, first-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, third-degree money laundering, and third-degree conspiracy to distribute or possess a controlled dangerous substance.

Derrick Johnson, 30, of Franklin Park was charged with two counts of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, and third-degree conspiracy to distribute or possess a controlled dangerous substance.

Harold Lagrone, 57, of Somerset was charged with third-degree conspiracy to distribute or possess a controlled dangerous substance.

Titus Peters, Sr., 49, of Somerset was charged with third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute, and third-degree conspiracy to distribute or possess a controlled dangerous.

As a result of this comprehensive investigation, detectives executed five superior court-issued search warrants to include the residences of Bailey, Peters, Sr. and Johnson, which culminated in the seizure of approximately 10,026 wax folds of heroin, approximately half a pound of marijuana, a loaded .40 caliber Smith & Wesson M&P handgun, four motor vehicles, one motorcycle, and $9,361.00 in U.S. currency of suspected drug proceeds, Robertson said.

The heroin seized has an estimated street value of $50,130 dollars and the marijuana seized has an estimated street value of approximately $2,000 dollars, Robertson said.
