
6 burglary suspects arrested in Long Hill Twp.
LONG HILL TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Six burglary suspects were arrested Thursday in Long Hill Township.
A resident on Birchwood Drive, which located in the Millington section of Long HIll Twp., called police at 4:04 a.m. after being alerted by her ring doorbell that someone was attempting to open her front door, police said.
When officers arrived,they discovered a vehicle on Birchwood Dr that was reported stolen out of Jersey City. Inside the vehicle was a dog that was taken from a neighboring jurisdiction, police said.
Shortly after arrival, officers were alerted by another resident who observed five individuals running through her yard, police said.
Residents were alerted through reverse 911/RAVE alert regarding the five suspects on foot. Police soon discovered and pursued them in the woods along Midvale Avenue, police said.
Two suspects were immediately taken into custody and three other suspects were still on the loose. Police continued their search of the Millington area and ultimately discovered the additional three suspects, police said.
Further investigation revealed the suspects had entered multiple vehicles in an attempt to steal more vehicles and flee the scene, police said.
A sixth suspect was taken into custody after she had been contacted by the initial suspects to pick them up before they were apprehended, police said.
Darwin Moncion, 19, of Jersey City and five juveniles have pending charges that include receiving stolen property, conspiracy to receive stolen property, burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, obstruction, eluding and resisting arrest.
