71-year-old woman found dead inside home after house fire in Sussex County

HAMPTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A 71-year-old woman was found dead inside a Sussex County home after an early morning fire, according to New Jersey State Police Sergeant Alejandro Goez.

The fire was reported at 6:12 a.m. at a residence on Lone Pine Trail in Hampton Township, Goez said.

The fire was extinguished by responding fire departments, Goez said.

The state police haven’t released the woman’s name yet, as they’re still notifying her next of kin.

The cause of the fire remains investigation, Goez said.
