Somerset County man charged with distribution, possession of child pornography
HILLSBOROUGH TOWNSHIP, NJ (Somerset County) – A Somerset County man was arrested for allegedly distributing and possessing child pornography in Hillsborough Township, according to the Somerset County Prosecutor John P. McDonald.
McDonald said that the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force notified the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office through their data system of an apparent upload of images of child pornography. The investigation revealed that Bernardino Gonzalez Lorenzana, 36, of Hillsborough Township was suspected of possessing images of child sexual abuse material and sharing it with another individual, McDonald said.
On Monday, November 7, detectives assigned to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit, agents from of U.S Homeland Security Investigation – Newark Field Office and members of the Hillsborough Township Police Department executed a court ordered search warrant on Lorenzana’s residence, McDonald said.
A preliminary search yielded numerous files depicting the sexual exploitation and/or abuse of children, McDonald said.
Lorenzana was arrested at his residence and charged with second-degree distribution of child pornography and third-degree possession of child pornography. Lorenzana was lodged in the Somerset County Jail pending a detention hearing, McDonald said.
