Aerial pesticide application for mosquito control planned for Tuesday in Independence Twp.

INDEPENDENCE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Warren County) – An aerial pesticide application for mosquito control is planned for Tuesday, April 23, according to Independence Township Police.

A granular substance, resembling kitty litter, will be applied to standing water by aircraft for the control of immature mosquitoes by the Warren County Mosquito Commission, police said.

The locations will be ​​​Youngs Island Rd (South) and ​​​the Drag Strip starting at 6:00 a.m. and going all day depending on the weather.

The alternate dates will be ​April 24 and 25.

The aerial contractor will be ​Rebecca Lynn Flying Service, Inc. (RLFS) and the aircraft is a ​​​Cessna Ag Reg #N4890R.
