Applebee’s tops most popular casual dining in New Jersey

NEW JERSEY – As pandemic restrictions continue to ease, New Jersey is ready to make up for lost time by flocking back to indoor dining. But which restaurants are benefiting most from this spending effect?

TOP Agency — an analytics agency tracking U.S consumer spending — analyzed the spending habits of 12 million Americans to see how states bounced back from COVID-related dips in dine out spending.

New Jersey bounced back slower than most. The number of dining out visits rose 5.21% from 2021 to 2022, the 33rd slowest recovery rate. Applebee’s was the most visited casual dining restaurant, as it was for four other states.

New Jersey’s top five include, in order:

  1. Applebee’s
  2. Buffalo Wild Wings
  3. Dickey’s Barbecue Pit
  4. Red Robin Gourmet Burger
  5. Hungry Howie’s
