UPDATE: Missing Rockaway Township girl found safe, prosecutor says

UPDATE: “Deris Avila-Ulloa, who also goes by the nicknames Sofia and/or Daisy who has been missing
since November 22, 2021, has been found in Virginia and is safe. As of Wednesday morning,
plans are underway for her return to New Jersey. The circumstances of her disappearance remain
under investigation, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said.

ROCKAWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Authorities are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 13-year-old girl from Rockaway Township who has been missing since November 22, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said.

Deris Avila-Ulloa, who also goes by the nicknames Sofia and/or Daisy, was last known to be at her family’s home on November 22, 2021 at 8:00 p.m., Carroll said.

Avila-Ulloa is believed to be wearing a black jacket, black dress, and white socks. She left her home with her cell phone and backpack. She is described as having brown hair, brown eyes, weighs approximately 100 pounds and is 5 feet 5 inches tall, Carroll said.
