Authorities conducting death investigation in Dover

DOVER, NJ (Morris County) – Authorities are conducting an investigation after a man was found dead on West Blackwell Street in Dover Sunday morning, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll.

On August 29, at around 7:40 a.m., police responded to the area of West Blackwell Street and Randolph Avenue for a report of a man lying on the sidewalk. On arrival, officer located a deceased male, Carroll said.

The victim’s identity was not released.

“Police have identified a person of interest. The investigation is active and ongoing. No further information will be released at this time in order to protect the integrity of the investigation. There is no perceived threat to the public at this time,” Carroll said.

Dover Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office are assisting in the investigation.
