Authorities investigating after man shot at Morris County motel

ROXBURY TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – Authorities are investigating after a man was shot at a Morris County motel Wednesday night, according to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll.

On Oct. 18, at around 8:54 p.m., authorities were notified that a man had been shot while at the Roxbury Motel on Route 46 in Roxbury Township, Carroll said.

Roxbury Police officers arrived on scene, located a male victim with a gunshot wound to the leg, and provided lifesaving medical aid. The victim was transported to a medical center with severe but non-life-threatening injuries, Carroll said.

The initial investigation determined the suspect(s) fled the scene immediately after the incident. The investigation into this incident is active and ongoing, Carroll said.

Members of the Roxbury Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office – Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office are assisting in this investigation.
