Body of missing Warren County man found in Sussex County
FRANKFORD TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – Blairstown Police say a Warren County man reported missing five months ago was found in Frankford Township Sunday.
Daniel A. Cannone, 23, was reported missing by his family on October 16 and the last image of him was caught on a RING camera on the same date. Then on Tuesday, October 19 his vehicle was found at the Skylands Stadium parking lot.
Hunters called the New Jersey State Police on March 6 at around 11:00 a.m. after discovering possible human remains roughly 1,000 feet into the woods behind the Frankford Municipal Building, according to Gregory Mueller, Sussex County’s First Assistant Prosecutor Gregory Mueller told the New Jersey Herald. The body was in an area not often traversed just north of August Hill Road near the Frankford Municipal Building, Mueller said to the news outlet.
“Over the last five months, we conducted multiple searches, and door to door canvassing for witnesses in an attempt to locate Daniel,” police said.
“Cannone’s cause of death is still under investigation but no crime is suspected,” police said.
The Blairstown Township Police Department investigated his disappearance, with the assistance of the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey State Police.
