Brush fire destroys shed in Andover Twp.

ANDOVER TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – A brush fire destroyed a shed Sunday evening in Andover Township, police said.

On Sunday, March 8, at around 6:35 p.m., the Andover Township Police Department responded along with the Andover Township Fire Department responded to the area of Warbasse Junction Road for a reported smoke condition, police said.

Officers located the smoke condition at a local farm and observed an active shed fire along with nearby brush burning, police said.

Police officers and nearby neighbors attempted to limit the spread of the fire utilizing hand tools and fire extinguishers, police said.

Firefighters arrived and extinguished the fire. Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire, police said.

The Lakeland Emergency Squad and New Jersey Forest Fire Service also responded to the scene.
