Budd Lake man charged with disorderly conduct, public intoxication

MOUNT OLIVE TOWNSHIP, NJ (Morris County) – A Budd Lake man is facing charges after he was allegedly intoxicated and belligerent early Saturday morning.

On Oct. 5, 2019 at 3:05 a.m., an officer responded to the Budd Lake First Aid Squad, located at 365 Route 46, for the report of a man attempting to enter a vehicle, police said.

When the officer arrived, the officer observed a man standing on the passenger side of a 2013 Kia, police said.

The driver of the vehicle told police that while he was stopped in the parking lot, the man approached his vehicle and asked for a ride. When the driver refused, the man began to yell at the driver and then attempted to enter the passenger side of the vehicle, police said.

The man, who was identified as Muhammad Shah, 22, appeared to be intoxicated and was acting in a belligerent manor. He was then arrested, police said.

Shah was charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication. He was released pending a court appearance.
