Car crashes into ShopRite Wines & Spirits store in Hackettstown (PHOTOS)

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (Warren County) – No one was injured after a car drove into the ShopRite Wines & Spirits store in Hackettstown Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened at around 3:17 p.m. at 80 Main St, police said.

A police investigation reveled that Elamarie Dolan, 77, of Allamuchy Twp., NJ was attempting to park her 2015 Toyota when her foot slipped off the brake and hit the gas pedal, police said.

This caused the vehicle to accelerate and then crashed into the front of the building. The collision caused the wall to collapse and window to shatter, police said.

The store manager was inside the store near the front window and as the vehicle approached the window, he ran and then fell to the ground, police said.

No summonses were issued, police said.

The Hackettstown Fire Department, Hackettstown Rescue Squad, and the Hackettstown Construction Official assisted at the scene.
