Car veers off road, strikes trees in Warren County; driver seriously injured

ALLAMUCHY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Warren County) — A Mountain Lakes man was seriously injured late Thursday night when his vehicle left the roadway and struck multiple trees in Allamuchy Township, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Troopers responded around 11:19 p.m. to County Road 604 North near milepost 4.7, State Police spokesman Trooper II Christopher Postorino said. A preliminary investigation found that a Honda sedan was traveling north when it veered off the right side of the roadway, hit two trees, reentered the road and then ran off the left side.

The driver, Jonathan Lopez, 27, sustained serious injuries in the crash and was taken to a nearby hospital, Postorino said.

The crash remains under investigation, and no additional information was immediately available.
