Chester police investigating string of car break-ins

CHESTER, NJ (Morris County) – The Chester Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance regarding multiple thefts from motor vehicles that occurred last month, police said.

The incidents occurredo n Fieldcrest Road, Spring Lake Drive, Beacon Hill Drive, Hillas Lane, Orr Ter., and Howell Drive between approximately 1:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2020, police said.

There was a reported attempted burglary to a motor vehicle on or about December 28, 2020, at approximately 2:00 a.m. on Prides Crossing, police said.

Chester Police Department request that residents in those areas review their surveillance videos during those hours for suspicious activity, suspicious vehicles, or suspicious persons and report the information to the Chester Police Department’s Detective Bureau at 908-888-2774.

“Residents are also reminded to lock their vehicles and to report all suspicious activity to the Chester Police Department,” police said.
